Upcycled Jewellery: Everything Has A Repurpose

As well as being a being a beaded jewellery designer, I’m also an upcycle jewellery designer and recently I felt the need to introduce the world to an international community of upcycle jewellery artistes by creating a Facebook page dedicated to beautiful upcycle jewellery designs.
So what is upcycle?  Well here’s the definition:
Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value” - Wikipedia
Here’s another definition:
Upcycling is taking an item that is no longer needed or wanted and giving it new life as something that is either useful or creative” - http://www.upcyclemagazine.com/
Eco jewellery is environmentally friendly and prevents landfill waste, hence is always good for the planet, it also gets the creative juices of jewellery designers  to design and create unique jewellery pieces.
Michelle Renée Bernard is one of my favourite upcycle jewellery designers. I came across her blog and saw this amazing necklace she created from sewing bobbins.

Michelle  describes why she’s inspired by this method of jewellery making
“I'm a mixed media artist with a love of flea markets, antiques, found objects and random trash. I delight in the irony of making something beautiful out of something discarded... transforming objects into new and meaningful artistic creations”

Here are some more jewellery designs which  I admire.
